Prevent diabetic foot ulcerations

Preventive care is of utmost importance as it relates to the diabetic foot. Any patient with diabetes should have his or her feet examined at every visit to his or her internal medicine and podiatric physician's office. Protective sensation should be tested and routinely monitored with a 5.07 Semmes Weinstein monofilament and/or biothesiometer.

  1. Are you familiar with the VACOcast Diabetic Foot offloading boot from Germany? If not, it is worth your time to go to www.vacocast.com to look at it. It is as good or better than a TCC without the hassles, and it blows away all iTCC in stability, quality, and hygiene.
